Morocco Reduces Sentence for Man Who Filmed Women in Hammam Without Consent

A man who was arrested in Meknes for taking photos and videos of naked and semi-naked women in a hammam has just seen his sentence reduced by 2 months.

So instead of 6 months in prison, this perverted photographer will ultimately serve 4 months, accompanied by a fine of 6,000 dirhams. He was prosecuted, among other things, for producing content intended for the dissemination of pornographic material that violates decency.

The case would have come to light, according to Assabah, when this man was caught red-handed by a woman working in a hammam (kessala, specifies Assabah) in a suburban neighborhood of the Ismailian capital, Meknes. He was in the dressing room where these ladies get dressed and undressed.

She then called for help from one of her male colleagues from the hammam. And the manhunt began, the voyeur and "filmmaker" was chased by a group of people who, we can imagine, had no benevolent intentions towards him. Especially since these are mostly people living near the hammam. And the customers of the Moorish bath are therefore close acquaintances!

After a brief chase, the man was arrested by a passing police patrol.
