Morocco Recalls Contaminated Canned Sardines After Food Safety Inspection

In a press release, the office specified that it was thanks to the regular interventions of its control services that the incriminated sardine balls were traced and immediately withdrawn.
However, the investigations carried out by the ONSSA services with the said company showed that the manufacturing, traceability and quality practices "do not reveal any anomaly".
Also, analyses on a wide sample of "Carle" brand products manufactured by this company, according to the same source, do not present any risk to consumers.
But for public health reasons, with risks of food poisoning, the authorities have decided to apply the precautionary principle.
