Morocco Ranks Second Among Arab Nations for US Visa Approvals in 2021

For the whole of 2021, the United States issued 3,585 visas to Moroccan nationals. With this number, Morocco ranks second among Arab countries that have obtained the most visas for their citizens.
Due to the health crisis, the United States has restricted access to visas on its territory. In recent months, these conditions have been gradually eased, to allow the provision of services related to immigrant and non-immigrant visas.
According to the US State Department, the number of visas issued by the United States worldwide this year is 285,069. In a recent annual report, the agency also published the beneficiaries by country and the number of visas issued in 2021.
It emerges from this document that last year, Morocco benefited from 3,585 visas and ranks second among Arab countries, behind Yemen with 4,770 visas. Jordan takes 3rd place with 2,785 visas.
At the continental level, Morocco is also second behind Nigeria, which obtained 4,990 visas. In total, 35,776 American visas were granted to African citizens in 2021. On a global scale, Mexico is in first position with 40,597 visas issued, followed by the Dominican Republic (17,941) and China (18,501).
