An increase in visa fees to travel to the United States is planned for Moroccans. The US Embassy in Morocco has indeed recently announced that the US State Department has decided to apply an increase in non-immigrant visa (NIV) fees starting May 30, 2023.
This decision marks the first increase in B1/B2 visa fees since 2012 and mainly concerns visitor visas for business or tourism (B1/B2 and BCC), as well as other types of non-petition-based visas, such as student and exchange visas.
According to the information provided, the fees for B1/B2 and BCC visas will increase from $160 to $185, an increase from 1583 to 1830 dirhams. Similarly, the fees for non-immigrant visas based on a petition for temporary workers in the H, L, O, P, Q and R categories will increase from $190 to $205, from 1880 to 2028 dirhams. As for merchants, investors and candidates in a specialized profession, nationals of a country that has signed a treaty with the United States (category E), their fees will increase from $205 to $315, from 2028 to 3115 dirhams.
Only the pricing of visas is affected. Other consular fees, including the two-year residence fee waiver for certain visitors participating in exchange programs, remain unchanged.
