Morocco Ranks 7th in Top Destinations for French Travelers in May

Morocco is in the Top 10 of the destinations most sold by French travel agencies (physical and online) in May 2023, according to the Orchestra Barometer.
In the short/medium-haul segment, Morocco occupies the seventh place in this ranking, far behind Spain, Greece and metropolitan France which form the top three, followed by Tunisia (4th), Egypt (5th), Italy (6th), Turkey (8th) and Portugal (9th), reports L’Écho touristique. On the long-haul segment, Mauritius (10th), the United States (11th) and the Dominican Republic (12th) are added.
Thailand, one of the most popular destinations before the health crisis, is in 14th place in this ranking. According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC), ticket prices to Asia have increased on average by 32.6% compared to 2019 and could go up to 51%.
The Moroccan destination remains the best-selling in North Africa at Bourses-des-vols compared to 2019. The travel agency specifies that its dry flight sales recorded a slight increase in May compared to 2022, in terms of order intake (+8%), and a decrease in terms of search volume on its site (-14%).
