Morocco Ranks 6th in Top 20 Budget-Friendly Travel Destinations

Morocco is among the top 20 best destinations for low-cost vacations, according to a ranking by a famous British daily newspaper.

In its Travel section, The Telegraph has unveiled its top 20 destinations that offer excellent value for money, whether it’s a week of action in the French Alps, a white sand escape in the Caribbean or Morocco, a poolside stay in a villa or a cultural getaway in a European city. The British newspaper specifies that the prices are per person for seven nights, including flights and transfers, depending on the stated departure dates, and are subject to availability.

Morocco ranks 6th in the ranking of destinations that offer excellent value for money. "To enjoy the sun at a competitive price, don’t just stick to Marrakech, but rather the country’s cheap seaside resorts, where beachfront hotels are less than four hours’ flight away," The Telegraph advises its readers. Agadir, on the southwest coast of Morocco, overlooked by the remains of a 16th century Kasbah-style fortress perched atop a hill, offers long stretches of sand and a lively nightlife. EasyJet Holidays offers seven nights at the Dunes d’Or Ocean Club, a four-star hotel with three pools, children’s clubs (ages 4 to 12), a spa, four restaurants and a beachfront location starting at £634 all-inclusive.

Madrid (from £272, room only, excluding transfers) tops the ranking. The Spanish city is followed by the French Alps, Portugal, Turkey and Crete (Greece). Tenerife (Spain) is in 7th place, while Cyprus takes 8th place. Then come Gozo (Malta), Slovenia, Bulgaria, Southern Italy, Albania, the Baltic States and Thailand. Mexico is in 16th place while Sri Lanka takes 17th place. Jamaica, Vietnam and Cape Town (South Africa) round out the podium.
