Morocco Ranked Among Safest Travel Destinations for 2025

Morocco is among the safest countries to travel to in 2025. This is the finding of a new report by International SOS, a leader in security and health risk management.
International SOS has published its annual Risk Map 2025 report. This is an analysis that anticipates what the year has in store in terms of global security, from the safest to the riskiest destinations... This risk map assesses four key areas: security, medical, climate and mental health risks. Countries are classified into five risk levels, from insignificant to extreme, depending on the categories, reports Globe Trender. In total, 65% of risk professionals believe that threats have increased over the past 12 months, and 69% anticipate that geopolitical tensions will have significant impacts in 2025, International SOS said.
Morocco is among the 20 safest countries to travel to in 2025. The other 19 countries are: Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Austria, Serbia, Italy, Greece, Sweden, Lithuania, China, Oman, Georgia, Laos, Vietnam and Malaysia. On the other hand, countries like Libya and Afghanistan are still at the top of the list of destinations to avoid, marked by incessant conflicts, poor governance and insufficient infrastructure to ensure safety. Somalia and the Central African Republic are also found, two countries facing chronic instability, endemic crime and fragile institutions, making any travel particularly perilous.
"Geopolitical tensions have been the main trigger, leading to an upward revision of risk assessments in countries like Sudan and Lebanon. The intensification and spread of conflicts now affects a greater number of urban centers, which has pushed up the overall risk assessment," said Sally Llewellyn, Director of Global Security at International SOS, in a statement.
