Morocco Ramps Up Face Mask Production to 7 Million Daily as Local Firms Join Effort

Thirty-two national companies are supporting Morocco in the production of masks. Among these, 19 are already operational after obtaining the necessary certification to start their activities.
19 of the 32 companies are already operational and produce about 7 million masks per day, said Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister of Industry, Trade, Green Economy and Digital, during his intervention before the House of Advisors. He also specified that several companies have obtained authorization to produce washable and reusable fabric masks for a week. The masks will be produced according to the standards of the [Moroccan Institute of Standardization IMANOR.
Elalamy also stated that his ministry is working with doctors to manufacture high-level artificial respirators. As for the hydroalcoholic antiseptics, the minister explained that due to the fire at the company that produces ethanol, the disinfectants were not yet available.
