Morocco Pursues Borussia Dortmund’s Teen Sensation Anas Mahjoubi for National Team

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is not letting up its efforts to convince Anas Mahjoubi to join the national team.
At 17 years old, this young left-back currently plays for Borussia Dortmund. Born in March 2007, Mahjoubi has managed to stand out with his solid performances on the field, despite his young age.
Holding three nationalities - Moroccan, Japanese and German - Mahjoubi can be called up by the three countries and Morocco must therefore act quickly before one of the other countries gets their hands on him.
So far, Mahjoubi has already defended the colors of the German national team in the youth categories and has received a proposal from Japan, the country of origin of his mother, to join their national team. But, according to his father, the young player had made a promise to Adil Boujida, the FRMF representative in Germany, stating that he would ultimately choose Morocco. A statement that has been confirmed to the newspaper Al Mountakhab by the latter.
The FRMF sees in Anas Mahjoubi a potential solution for a position where the Moroccan national team currently lacks depth: that of left-back.
