Morocco’s Progress Fuels Tensions with Algeria, PAM Leader Claims

On the sidelines of the presentation of candidates for the legislative and municipal elections in the province of Khouribga, the Secretary General of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), Abdellatif Ouahbi, addressed the Algerian-Moroccan crisis, indicating that it is the prowess and progress of Morocco that attract jealousy.
"Algeria’s problem is linked to the strength of Morocco in supporting its achievements and successes," Ouahbi said at a meeting in Khouribga, citing examples of these Moroccan advances and achievements.
Among these advances, the politician mentioned the national vaccination campaign against Covid-19. "The vaccination of 18 million people in Morocco has provoked the anger of Algeria, which has not been able to cross the threshold of one million vaccinated people," he said.
Also, the PAM leader drew attention to the fact that "Morocco has several (Canadair) planes to quickly and effectively extinguish forest fires, unlike Algeria...".
Politically, Ouahbi affirmed that "Morocco respects its neutrality, avoids animosity and does not seek problems with anyone... Algeria, on the other hand, must respect the Moroccan experience".
And he added: "Rupture of relations (diplomatic) or not, the Moroccan and Algerian peoples are inseparable brothers...".
