Moroccan Opposition Leader Slams PJD Government’s ’Disastrous’ Record, Proposes New Vision

The Secretary General of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), Abdellatif Ouahbi, believes that the record of the government led by the Party of Justice and Development (PJD) is "disastrous". His party is proposing a new management to the Moroccan people.
"The governments that have succeeded each other after the 2011 Constitution have bent the knee to certain reforms imposed by the demands of globalization, without building them according to the particularities and constraints of the Moroccan reality," said Abdellatif Ouahbi during the presentation of his party’s program for the next five-year term. According to him, the policies pursued by the Benkirane and El Othmani governments were not based on a development program, but they opted for sectoral management policies devoid of an overall concept. "The records of the Benkirane and El Othmani governments are ’disastrous at all levels’," estimated the boss of this opposition party.
During his speech, he also addressed the Covid-19 pandemic. According to Abdellatif Ouahbi, the Covid crisis has shown the depth of the imbalances in the Moroccan economy that persist. "The Benkirane and El Othmani governments have been unable to curb it," he noted. With the approaching local and legislative elections, he is convinced that political parties will be able to present programs, visions and propose solutions capable of straightening out the Moroccan economy. He talks about "realistic, effective and deeply in line with our historical particularity" solutions. As for his party, the PAM has developed a program focused on the basic social sectors, health, education and housing.
