Morocco Prison Officials Face Sanctions After Dangerous Inmate Escape

Mohamed Salah Tamek, Delegate General for Prison Administration and Reintegration, was at the local prison of Tanger 2. This visit allowed him to inform the officials of the punitive measures underway to sanction all those involved in the recent escape of a dangerous prisoner.
Nothing will be the same again in Moroccan prisons. This is now the credo of the prison administration that will govern the penitentiary institutions of the Kingdom. Barlamane.com reports that the Delegate General, through his recent tour of these institutions, has hammered this point home. In Tangier, Mohamed Salah Tamek was firm and clear before the officials of this prison from which a dangerous prisoner escaped.
The Delegate General for Prison Administration and Reintegration observed to the various officials that he was personally following the investigation opened by the Delegation as part of this escape. He also stressed that his visit to the local prison of Tanger 2 was aimed at concluding the said investigation and taking punitive measures against any person who has failed in his professional duties.
A week earlier, Mohamed Salah Tamek had started this tour at the local prison of Dakhla to investigate violations he had heard about.
