Morocco’s Prime Minister Addresses Coronavirus Response on National TV

Even though Morocco is still in phase 1 of the coronavirus pandemic, the situation deserves special attention and serious treatment, assured the head of government. On Saturday on television, El Otmani stated that all the information made available to the population by official sources is serious.
In a television interview on Saturday, the head of the Executive affirmed that "the figures communicated are real and it is necessary to trust the ministry and the various stakeholders in the management of this epidemic".
He recalled that the authorities are required to communicate transparently on the evolution of the situation, in order not to undermine confidence, both nationally and internationally.
El Otmani also reassured Moroccans that the announcements made by the authorities are not intended to sow panic within the population.
