Morocco’s Prime Minister to Address Parliament on National Water Strategy

Saâdeddine El Othmani, Head of Government, will be working in front of the deputies this Monday, January 27, 2020. He will address the issue of water management in the kingdom, in particular the 2020-2027 national program, initiated by King Mohammed VI, and dedicated to drinking water and irrigation.
On this occasion, it will be for the head of government to respond to the concerns of the deputies on the materialization of the royal vision of an efficient water strategy for the kingdom, reports Le360.
"The roadmap notably contains the financing. It remains to be seen whether El Othmani and his team will be able to ensure better water management for Morocco," it is whispered within Parliament.
With a total investment of 115 billion dirhams, the 2020-2027 national program, dedicated to drinking water and irrigation, is an initiative emanating from King Mohammed VI.
The sovereign also presided, last week, over a session devoted to the financing of this project. Its main axes focus on improving the water supply, in particular through the construction of dams, water management in the agricultural sector, the supply of rural areas with drinking water, as well as the treatment of wastewater for the irrigation of green spaces, it is specified.
