Morocco Prepares for Ramadan 2025, Expected to Begin in Early March

The month of Ramadan 2025 should begin on March 1 or 2, according to forecasts. Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month, is expected on Monday, March 31, 2025.
The exact duration of Ramadan, 29 or 30 days, will depend on the observation of the crescent moon, which marks the beginning of each month of the Muslim calendar.
In Morocco, this observation is traditionally done with the naked eye. More than 270 observation points are mobilized across the country on the 29th day of each lunar month. Official delegates are responsible for scanning the sky and announcing the start of the new month based on their observations.
The Kingdom is recognized worldwide for its expertise in observing crescent moons. "Over the decades, no error has been recorded," which testifies to the reliability of the Moroccan method.
