Morocco Prepares for Massive COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign

In a few weeks, Morocco will launch a large-scale vaccination campaign against Covid-19. The director of the biotechnology laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Rabat, Azeddine Ibrahimi, explained in an interview that to stop the spread, vaccinating as many people as possible is a formidable weapon.
After recalling the reasons why Morocco is betting on vaccination to overcome the virus, Azzeddine Ibrahimi listed the reasons why it is important that the vaccine be stored in a way that preserves its active ingredients intact. In Morocco, the administration in charge of this mission is the Directorate of Medicines and Pharmacy.
But who are the people concerned by the vaccination and what are the selection criteria for them? For the director of the biotechnology laboratory, Morocco, in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization, plans to vaccinate the health personnel, the national security and the local authorities in priority, because they are on the front line in the fight against this pandemic, reports the MAP.
Secondly, people with certain conditions, pathologies or chronic diseases will be taken into account. The objective of this categorization is to take care of the people who are more vulnerable, since for a beginning, approximately 10 million doses will be developed. This phase is a kind of test to raise awareness among those who are still reluctant, who think that the vaccine against Covid-19 could have many consequences. Azzeddine Ibrahimi invites the population not to see it as a conspiracy theory but as a means of fighting a very dangerous virus.
While waiting for the vaccine against Covid-19 to go through all the necessary filters, the director of the biotechnology laboratory invites everyone to get vaccinated already for the seasonal flu, especially for people who are in a state of health precariousness. "I think everyone will understand that if they don’t get the vaccine for themselves, they will do it for others and I hope that all Moroccans will get involved in this campaign".
