Morocco Prepares 32 Cities to Host 2030 World Cup Matches

A total of 32 Moroccan cities will host the 2030 World Cup that Morocco will organize jointly with Spain and Portugal, Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, recently announced.
The development projects underway in the various cities of the kingdom will be accelerated to ensure the successful organization of this global football event, Lekjaa said, during the meeting of the Finance and Economic Development Committee in the House of Representatives, devoted to the detailed examination of the 2025 finance bill, announcing the extension of the High-Speed Line to Marrakech and Agadir.
"It is necessary to expand the airports in line with the progress made in the tourism sector, particularly in Marrakech, Agadir, Fez, Tangier and Casablanca. These development projects, whether we host the World Cup or not, are essential to carry out, and it is a major asset of the Moroccan bid for the World Cup, because the conditions take into account how the country will benefit from the infrastructure and projects related to the World Cup," he developed.
The president of the FRMF added that "the team that will play for example in Rabat could be accommodated in Nador, and the number of cities that will host the teams, between the places of residence and training, will be 32. This logic allows all regions of the Kingdom to benefit from this event, which will not only be Moroccan, but also African and Arab."
And to conclude: "We will use all the stadiums we have, but they will be renovated to be in a new state. As for the city of Casablanca, we will need to build a new stadium due to the many supporters of the Raja and Wydad teams, and the city deserves a stadium that meets these standards."
