Morocco Postpones Key Exam, Shifts to Remote Learning for New School Year

The Unified Regional Exam of the First Year of the Baccalaureate will no longer take place on September 4 and 5, 2020 as planned. The Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research announced its postponement to a later date.
The ministry also indicated that "distance learning is the pedagogical model" that will be adopted at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, for "all cycles and levels combined, in all public and private establishments as well as in foreign mission schools".
According to the same source, face-to-face teaching will be provided for students whose parents choose this model. It should be noted that a "mechanism will be established to allow families to make such a choice".
