Morocco to Play Two CAN Qualifiers Behind Closed Doors Due to COVID-19

The next two qualifying matches for the 2022 CAN will be played behind closed doors due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This is the decision taken by the authorities of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The first match in Group E, scheduled for November 13 at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca, will pit the Atlas Lions against the Central African Wildcats without the presence of the public. The many fans of the national team will have to enjoy the screens.
The second match between Morocco and the Central African Republic, scheduled for November 17, has been moved to Douala, Cameroon. It will also have to be played without the public.
For Christian Emeruwa, head of security for the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the African football body wants to guarantee security and safety everywhere in Africa. "We are aware of the huge task ahead of us, especially in keeping spectators away from the stadiums," he added.
Pending the other matches in the group, the Moroccans are in the lead (4 pts, +3) ahead of Mauritania (4 pts, +2), the Central African Republic (3 pts, 0) and Burundi (0 pt, -5). Like the two Morocco matches, all other CAN qualifying matches will also be played behind closed doors.
