Morocco Offers Financial Aid for Burial of COVID-19 Victims in France

In a press release sent to MAP, the embassy specified that "this assistance translates into financial support for the poorest of our citizens to ensure the conditions of burial in the Muslim squares reserved by the French authorities". This financial support from Morocco comes after the various exceptional measures taken by the authorities to fight the covid-19 epidemic, in particular the provisional impossibility of repatriating the bodies of the deceased to be buried on Moroccan territory.

The embassy therefore invites the families of the deceased to contact the consuls general of the kingdom in their consular districts to inquire about the modalities of the assistance put in place.

Furthermore, the embassy and the general consulates of the Kingdom of Morocco in France call, in these difficult times, on our fellow citizens to act in a spirit of responsibility and cooperation with the various French authorities and actors involved in the specific burial procedures related to the covid-19 epidemic".
