Morocco’s National Technical Director Praises Country’s Football Potential

A year after his arrival as National Technical Director, Osian Roberts has declared his love for Morocco. He took the opportunity to outline the program developed to take the national football far.
"I fell in love with Morocco... I am very happy to have made the decision to come and live and work in Morocco. It is a beautiful country with beautiful people," the DTN said on BBC Sport Africa.
At 55, Osian Roberts has given up everything in Wales to join Morocco where he is having another experience in the field of football. For the former technical director and deputy director of the Football Association of Wales (FAW), his results are quite satisfactory despite the constraints related to the coronavirus epidemic. According to him, this period of inactivity has been used to develop the program to be followed in the coming years.
The DTN claims to have traveled the entire country before the coronavirus epidemic to identify the needs of football stakeholders in the country’s clubs. "Now we are in the implementation phase, it is action. There are many achievements... women’s football has been successful on the pitch... and we aim to make it the number one sport for women and girls."
He also announced the upcoming training of 150 CAF (Confederation of African Football) A-licensed coaches and the participation of the U17 and U20 boys’ teams.
