Morocco’s National Team Sets Five-Match Friendly Schedule Ahead of Africa Cup

The coach of the Moroccan national football team, Walid Regragui, has finalized the preparation program for the Atlas Lions for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), which will take place in December.
The preparation will begin in June with a first friendly match, made possible by the cancellation of the match against Eritrea, initially scheduled as part of the World Cup qualifiers. Two additional friendly matches are scheduled for November, at the end of the qualifiers, followed by two final friendly matches in December, just before the start of the CAN.
In addition to these friendly matches, the national team will play two official matches in March next year against Niger and Tanzania, counting towards the World Cup qualifiers. These matches will be held at the fully renovated Prince Moulay Abdallah Sports Complex in Rabat.
The draw for the final phase of the CAN, which will determine Morocco’s opponents, will take place on January 27 at the Mohammed VI Center in Maâmoura. The Moroccan team is in Pot 1, along with Algeria, Egypt, Senegal, Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire.
