Morocco’s National Team Faces Jersey Delay as Puma Deal Stalls, Adidas Kit Remains

Due to the delay in the delivery of "Puma" equipment, the Atlas Lions continue to wear the "Adidas" jerseys. A situation that could force the Federation to pay a fine if "Adidas" takes legal action.
With the signing of a contract on August 9 with "Puma", the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) definitively broke with the one signed with "Adidas" which expired on June 30. A delay in the delivery of equipment, according to Le360, forces the various national teams to continue using "Adidas".
A rather embarrassing situation, especially since the FRMF had speculated on the quality of the "Adidas" branded products. Indeed, the institution had decided to terminate the contract with the equipment supplier, following the tearing of striker Youssef El Arabi’s jersey during the match that had pitted the Moroccan national team against the Algerian Fennecs in April 2011.
A well-informed source within the Federation explained that the opening of the tender bids was carried out on June 9. However, the tender launch procedure should have been done in March in order to open the bids in April, to allow "Puma" to manufacture the equipment and send it in a timely manner.
In short, the new equipment supplier of the Atlas Lions cannot be solely responsible for the current situation.
