Morocco Names Veteran Diplomat Youssef Amrani as New EU Ambassador

This appointment came at the end of the Council of Ministers held in Fez. Previously ambassador of Morocco in South Africa, the new representative of the kingdom in Brussels succeeds Ahmed Rahou.

Born in Tangier in 1953, the diplomat has spent almost his entire career in positions of responsibility that he has held abroad, as a consul or ambassador.

Amrani has proven himself in countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Chile, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Belize.
