Morocco Moves to Shut Down Shisha Cafes Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Already at war with shisha cafes, the Moroccan government wants to intensify this fight against these establishments with a high risk of coronavirus transmission.
The Moroccan government has more reason to engage in this fight against shisha cafes, in the face of the coronavirus epidemic. According to Hespress, field operations, mandated by the Ministry of the Interior, aim to force the owners of shisha cafes, presumed nests of contamination, to close their establishments in the major cities of the kingdom, particularly in Casablanca and Agadir.
According to the Moroccan authorities, nearly thirty Covid-19 infections have been recorded so far in the kingdom. In addition to the suspension of air and sea links, the ban on all public gatherings of more than 50 people, as well as sporting, cultural and artistic events and meetings, have been suspended throughout the country.
This ban also affects all nurseries, educational, vocational training and university establishments, private and public, and is in effect from this Monday, until further notice.
