Morocco: Macabre Discovery of a Family in Had Soualem

Concern was rising among the residents of this house facing the weekly market. The prolonged absence of the occupants, coupled with nauseating emanations, prompted the inhabitants to alert the local authorities. Faced with these reports, the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Soualem and the Civil Protection were deployed to the scene. Under the supervision of the Berrechid prosecutor’s office, they forced access to the home to carry out a reconnaissance.

The inspection of the premises revealed the extent of the tragedy with the presence of three corpses. According to the initial findings, it is a couple and their son. The teams of the technical and scientific police immediately proceeded with the usual examinations on the scene before the transfer of the bodies to the morgue. A judicial investigation, led by the Court of Appeal of Settat, is now open to determine the exact circumstances of these deaths.
