Morocco Leads World in Chinese Green Tea Imports, New Data Shows

Over the years, Morocco has become the largest importer of Chinese green tea. This is evidenced by the latest statistics from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
Renowned for its benefits, Chinese green tea is a very popular drink in Morocco. Last year, the province of Hubei exported about 7,640.5 tons to the kingdom - its largest quantity of tea to Morocco - for an export value of $32.9 million, according to the latest statistics from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. In the first five months of this year, Hubei’s export volume to Morocco is around 5,156.1 tons of tea, for a value of $20.26 million, thus catching up with last year.
In May last year, the volume of Chinese tea exports was 25,800 tons. A significant portion of this quantity was destined for the Moroccan market, with a total export value reaching $102 million, marking a 29.85% decrease compared to the previous year.
