Morocco Launches Weekend Administrative Services for Expatriates

The Moroccan public administration will now be operational on weekends, through a one-stop shop and a dedicated on-call system for Moroccans living abroad, in accordance with a circular from the Minister of the Interior, issued at the end of last week.
This special system set up in the various districts and administrative annexes of the kingdom and which will operate thanks to an on-call system, aims to facilitate all administrative procedures for Moroccans of the diaspora, indicates Le360.
In addition to this one-stop shop, there will also be another on-call service in the prefectures to resolve any disputes that may arise between Moroccans living abroad and civil servants. Any refusal must be justified in writing, warns the Minister of the Interior in his circular.
"The majority of the cases handled are related to civil status and we have been instructed to give a response to all files on the same day, including for the transfer of nationality by Moroccan mothers to their children born from a marriage with a foreign national," explains a senior official from the Ministry of the Interior in Casablanca.
