Agadir’s Fish Market Scandal: Tourists and Locals Outraged by 1000% Price Hike

Moroccans and tourists denounce the exaggerated rise in prices at the cooked fish market, located near the road leading to the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella.
The tensions between merchants and local or visiting customers are becoming more and more frequent in this fish market where speculation is at its peak, reports Al Akhbar. Customers denounce an exaggerated and unjustified rise in the prices of small fish dishes, up to 800 or even 1,000 dirhams.
This abusive practice of the merchants is "unacceptable", insist the customers who call on the competent authorities to strengthen price controls in this souk to put an end to this overbidding which risks driving away both local customers and visitors, and tarnishing the image of Agadir.
