Morocco Launches Online Portal for Tourism Sector COVID-19 Relief Payments

Employees of tourism companies and eligible professionals for the lump-sum allowance financed by the Special Fund for the Management of the Pandemic of the New Coronavirus in Morocco now have an electronic portal for their declaration. The launch is scheduled for next Tuesday.
This measure concerns employees and interns of classified accommodation establishments, travel agencies and tourist transport companies, as well as tourist guides affiliated with the CNSS under laws 98.15 and 99.15 relating to medical and social coverage for non-salaried workers.
To benefit from it, the company’s turnover must show a drop of at least 25%, and it must undertake to maintain at least 80% of the jobs, according to a CNSS press release.
This measure taken to support establishments impacted by the pandemic is based on a tripartite agreement (government representatives, the National Confederation of Tourism and the CNSS) and financed by the Special Fund, set up on the high instructions of King Mohammed VI.
Thus, the companies concerned will be able to declare their employees and interns under the insertion contract to benefit from a monthly allowance of 2,000 DH to be paid during the period from July 1 to the end of December 2020, in addition to the right to family allowances and compulsory health insurance (AMO), in accordance with the legal provisions in force, specifies the CNSS.
Declarations are received according to a precise schedule: between the 16th of each month and the 3rd of the following month, and, exceptionally, from September 8 to 15 for the months of July and August.
