Morocco Launches 'Marhaba 2023' Welcome Program for Expatriates Across 24 Sites

It is this Monday, June 5, that the Marhaba 2023 operation dedicated to Moroccans residing abroad will begin. The Foundation has activated the reception system in Morocco, France, Italy and Spain, composed of 24 assistance and support sites for members of the community, the Foundation said in a statement.

The Foundation specifies that these 24 sites will remain operational throughout the period of the operation - i.e. three and a half months during the arrival and return phases.

In addition, 18 reception areas are operational in Morocco:

• Port of Tanger Med
• Port of Tanger Ville
• Port of Al Hoceima
• Port of Nador
• Casablanca Mohammed V Airport
• Rabat - Salé Airport
• Oujda Angad Airport
• Nador Airport
• Agadir Al Massira Airport
• Fès Saïss Airport
• Marrakech Menara Airport
• Tanger Ibn Battouta Airport
• Méditerranée rest areas
• Jebha
• Tazaghine
• Smir M’Diq
• Bab Sebta border post
• Mellilia border post

Abroad, 6 Marhaba spaces are planned:

• Port of Genoa (Italy)
• Port of Sète (France)
• Port of Marseille (France)
• Port of Motril (Spain)
• Port of Almería (Spain)
• Port of Algeciras (Spain)

The usual social and medical assistance services, reinforced by the presence of social workers on board long-haul ships put in place during the 2021 edition of the operation, will remain operational at the Marhaba reception sites deployed by the Foundation in Morocco and abroad, the same source continues.

Nearly 1,400 people, including Foundation teams, social workers, doctors, paramedical staff and volunteers, are mobilized.

The Marhaba call service, centralized at the Coordination Central Office (and directly accessible from Morocco on the toll-free number 080 000 23 23 and 08086 907 93 (an additional number set up this year), will be available 7 days a week and 24 hours a day throughout the duration of the operation.
