Morocco Launches Housing Initiative to Attract Overseas Nationals

The Ministry of National Land Use Planning has launched a large-scale information campaign for Moroccans living abroad. Entitled "Urban Planning and Housing at the Service of Moroccans Abroad", this initiative aims to facilitate access for Moroccans residing abroad to housing programs and support them in their real estate projects in Morocco.
Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, the minister in charge of the file, stressed the ministry’s willingness to get closer to Moroccans residing abroad and offer them personalized support. "We want to listen to them and meet their specific needs," she said.
This campaign is translated into concrete actions on the ground. Mobile caravans will thus criss-cross 23 cities in the Kingdom, while reception areas will be set up at border points and train stations. Urban agencies and the Al Omrane group will also organize open house days and help desks to allow Moroccans residing abroad to benefit from personalized advice.
Particular emphasis will be placed on promoting the "Daam Sakane" direct housing assistance program. Moroccans residing abroad already represent a significant share of the beneficiaries of this system, which aims to support access to home ownership for low and middle-income households.
