Morocco Launches Free Legal Aid Network for Expatriates

The Delegate Ministry to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad is coming to the aid of MREs. It announced on Sunday the availability of a list of lawyer contacts for all Moroccan nationals living abroad who will respond, on a voluntary basis, to all their requests for legal assistance.
In making this decision, the ministry wants to "support the initiative undertaken by the network of Moroccan lawyers practicing abroad", whose aim is to assist MREs free of charge with legal advice and assistance. The goal is to protect the rights and interests of Moroccans residing abroad and provide them with the legal information they need.
The ministry commends "the collective mobilization of all Moroccans residing abroad and the sense of solidarity they have shown towards their country, their Moroccan brothers and sisters and all citizens in general, through the many distinguished and honorable initiatives they have undertaken in their host countries." It also indicated that the list and contact information of the lawyers are available on the ministry’s website.
