Morocco Launches Bid for Major Aircraft Storage and Recycling Facility Near Oujda

The call, for a period of 10 years renewable, concerns the design, construction, financing and operation of this center planned to eventually occupy 54 hectares near Oujda Angad airport. Bids will be opened on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, according to the file published on the Office’s website.

The provisions of a contract provide, in addition to the deposit set at 250,000 dirhams, for the payment, throughout the period of occupation, of an annual domain royalty calculated on the basis of the domain rate per hectare, as resulting from its financial offer, without being less than 105,000 DH excluding tax per hectare occupied per year.

The successful bidder will have a maximum of 16 months to develop the first 10 hectares on the site. It also has a maximum of one year to start the aircraft storage activity within a maximum of six months after the completion of the work planned in the initial phase.

As for the 3rd phase, with a maximum duration of one year, it consists of the realization of the industrial infrastructure of the project and the start of the activity of dismantling and recycling of aircraft and aircraft parts within a maximum period of twelve months.

According to the specifications for this call for tenders, the future holder of the contract will be able to export or dismantle or even recycle the aircraft stored for more than two years, provided that the owner pays a penalty of 5,000 DH per additional day in storage.
