Morocco to Launch Online Religious Program for Diaspora in 2025

Due to the generally negative political context in Europe, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs intends to revise its policy of religious supervision of Moroccans residing abroad (MREs).

"As the political context in Europe is generally negative, we will launch in the coming months a new program on the Internet aimed at Moroccans Residing Abroad (MREs)," the Minister of Islamic Affairs announced on Tuesday to the House of Advisors during a session of oral questions. He specified that it is a multilingual digital communication project aimed at the three generations of Moroccans in the world, which should be implemented as of March 2025.

Every year, Morocco sends preachers and preachers to Europe to provide religious supervision for MREs. But they often face difficulties in obtaining visas. The new program should allow the ministry to virtually provide religious supervision for MREs, without any hitches.

Regarding the actions taken so far by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Toufiq said that his department allocates annual financial credits to support associations involved in the religious supervision of the Moroccan community, reaching an amount of 96 million and 112,000 dirhams, from which 14 associations in France, Belgium and Canada have benefited.

It also sends scientific missions composed of readers, preachers and female preachers - 372 this year - distributed in nine countries: France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Canada. The ministry also provides the necessary Quran copies to the Islamic centers and intensifies the scientific field visits.
