Morocco to Launch New Maritime Route Connecting Tarfaya Port to Canary Islands

Morocco is preparing to launch a mixed maritime transport line between the port of Tarfaya and that of the Canary Islands. To this end, the Ministry of Equipment, Transport and Logistics has launched a call for expressions of interest (AMI) for its operation.
This new link will be reserved for freight and passengers, reports Aujourd’hui le Maroc. The duration of operation of this line is set at 5 years. As for the bidders, they will have to pay 1 million DH to ensure the guarantee of this offer and submit the files no later than November 26.
For the ministry, the operation of this line will contribute to the economic and social development of the southern provinces of the Kingdom. It will also have to further decongest the flows of goods and passengers.
