Morocco’s King Mohammed VI Opens $600,000 Addiction Treatment Center in Benslimane

King Mohammed VI proceeded to inaugurate the addiction treatment center in Benslimane, a year after launching the construction work in June 2018. The project required an investment budget of 6 million dirhams.
Initiated by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the addiction treatment center is the result of a partnership between the latter, the Ministry of Health and the Casablanca Settat Regional Council.
With the main objective of the social reintegration of people suffering from addictive behaviors, the center will work on setting up awareness-raising actions against drug use, and the medical and social support of people suffering from this syndrome.
The center will have a social support unit, integrating sports and artistic activities, psychoeducation spaces, computer and associative spaces. A medical unit is also planned within the center, including treatment rooms, consultation rooms, a clinic and a pharmacy.
