Moroccan Woman Donates Land for Women’s Social Center in Chefchaouen

Mother Teresa Beni Mansour, this is how most of the inhabitants of the city of Chefchaouen are starting to call an old lady who has donated land for the benefit of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH). The land was used to build a social center for women and children.
The old villager was approached by a local association, asking her permission to build a development project on her land for the benefit of the women of the region. The request was welcomed favorably, especially since the project will benefit the women of the region, who will be able to learn new trades and ensure a stable income.
According to Ahdath.info, at the time of the inauguration, the governor of the province of Chefchaouen could not hide his emotion, and placed a kiss on the old woman’s head, as a sign of recognition of her sacrifice. Donating land is indeed a gesture of great nobility, especially from a destitute and poor woman.
The project has become a multi-service center, allowing both to train women in new trades but also to serve as a preschool daycare, adds the site. An initiative that offers women and children in a remote area the opportunity to integrate the academic and professional world.
Last February, a businesswoman had donated 12 million dirhams for the construction of a high school in a rural commune of Ouled Fares, in the Settat region. She had also financed for one million dirhams the renovation work of a primary school, consisting of the replacement of three "prefabricated" classrooms, the construction of new classrooms, including one dedicated to preschool, and four sanitary blocks, as well as the restoration of the perimeter wall and the playground.
