Morocco’s King Mohammed VI Mourns Jacques Chirac, Praising Franco-Moroccan Ties

Morocco joins the various nations that, since this Thursday morning, have expressed their condolences to France, following the death of Jacques Chirac. It is through a message that King Mohammed VI sent his condolences to Mrs. Bernadette Chirac, following the death of the former President of the French Republic, Jacques Chirac.
In this message, the King states that he learned with great sadness of the passing of President Jacques Chirac.
"President Chirac was a warm and modest being, long attached to Morocco. His past stays in the Kingdom and the admiration he had for it are the testimony of an old and solid friendship," notes the Sovereign.
"I remember the memory of Our meetings and, in particular, the benevolence he unfailingly showed. He constantly worked to deepen the excellent relations between our two countries," adds the message.
The King notes that "France has lost an eminent statesman who will have marked history by his decisive action and his courageous positions in favor of peace. He was able to build a special relationship of proximity with all the French".
"You know the very deep esteem and respect I had for him. I only measure the cruelty of the ordeal your family is going through," affirms the King.
