Morocco’s King Mohammed VI to Make Private Visit to Paris Amid Diplomatic Tensions
King Mohammed VI is expected to fly to Paris today, Monday, April 15, 2024, for a private visit.
The Moroccan Sovereign is expected to take advantage of his stay there to visit his mother, Lalla Latifa, who is settled in the Paris region and whose health has deteriorated, indicates the site Africa Intelligence.
The French capital had been shunned by the King of Morocco for many months following the deterioration of relations between the kingdom and France, the sovereign having preferred to travel to other destinations, including Gabon, the United Arab Emirates or Singapore.
A meeting, in a private setting with French President Emmanuel Macron, is not to be excluded during this stay.
