Morocco’s King Mohammed VI to Host Turkish President Erdogan for Summit on Libya Crisis

Preparations are underway for the upcoming summit meeting in Rabat between King Mohammed VI and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
According to the newspaper Al Ayam, this meeting would be an opportunity for the two heads of state to address the Libyan crisis file, a subject that has marked international news, as well as major events at the regional and Arab country levels.
The latest developments in the Libyan file have prompted Moroccan diplomacy to reiterate its commitment to the Skhirat Pact, and to remind the stakeholders of the need to adopt it as a reference in resolving the conflict.
During a telephone conversation with his counterpart from the Government of National Reconciliation in Libya, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, had expressed Morocco’s support for the Libyan national cause, based on the resolutions of the agreement signed in Morocco under the auspices of the UN.
These discussions come at a time when certain parties, including the United Arab Emirates and Algeria, are trying to bypass the Skhirat Pact and exclude the Government of National Reconciliation from the political scene.
