Morocco’s King Mohammed VI to Host Spanish PM Sanchez, Ending Diplomatic Rift

At the invitation of King Mohammed VI, the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will make an official visit to Morocco on Thursday, April 7, as part of the strengthening of bilateral relations between Morocco and Spain.
In a statement, the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announced that during his visit to Morocco, the Spanish Prime Minister will have official talks with King Mohammed VI.
Pedro Sanchez will also be the guest of an iftar offered in his honor by the king.
The official visit of the President of the Spanish Government will mark the end of a diplomatic crisis that has lasted nearly a year between Rabat and Madrid, stressed on Tuesday the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares.
On March 18, Spain changed its position on the Moroccan autonomy proposal to resolve the Sahara conflict.
