Morocco’s King Mohammed VI and China’s Xi Jinping Discuss Strengthening Strategic Partnership

King Mohammed VI spoke by telephone with the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, on Monday.
"The conversation is part of the friendly relations between the two countries, enhanced by the Joint Declaration on the Strategic Partnership, signed by His Majesty the King and President Xi JINPING, during the Royal Visit to Beijing in May 2016," says a statement from the Royal Cabinet.
On the agenda of the exchanges: the development of bilateral relations in all areas, in particular political dialogue, economic cooperation and cultural and human exchanges, and the partnership between the two countries in the fight against Covid-19.
"The conversation was, therefore, an opportunity to thank the People’s Republic of China for the support and assistance it has provided to the strong preventive measures taken by the Kingdom of Morocco to curb the spread of the pandemic, both in terms of medical equipment and screening tests, and in terms of information and expertise exchanges," continues the same source.
The two personalities also discussed the future steps of operational cooperation between Morocco and the People’s Republic of China in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, concludes the statement.
