China Pledges COVID-19 Support and Vaccine Access to Morocco

China expresses its willingness to support Morocco in the fight against the new coronavirus pandemic, as well as in its efforts to resume production.
China will continue to provide assistance to Morocco’s efforts to fight Covid-19 and revive its economy. Similarly, it assures Morocco of its support on the international and regional stage, said Wang Yi, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister.
China is in favor of frank collaboration with Morocco and its relevant companies to develop and use the vaccine, Mr. Wang affirmed. Like African countries, Morocco will be among the very first to have access to the Chinese vaccine against COVID-19 as soon as it is developed and put into service, the Chinese diplomat pledged.
This mark of China’s support and assistance to Morocco, King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan government are sensitive to it, especially at the most critical moment of the new coronavirus epidemic, responded Mr. Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, according to whom China has the confidence of the Kingdom for its experience in the fight against Covid-19. Morocco supports China in promoting health cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and hopes that Sino-Moroccan friendship will be further deepened to better benefit the two peoples.
