Morocco’s King Calls Coach to Congratulate on World Cup Qualification

King Mohammed VI surprised the coach of the Moroccan national team, Vahid Halilhodzic, just after the qualification of the Atlas Lions for the 2022 World Cup by calling him on the phone to congratulate him.
Morocco eliminated, on Tuesday at the Mohammed-V stadium in Casablanca, the Democratic Republic of Congo in the return playoff of the 2022 World Cup (4-1 after the first leg 1-1) and is flying to Qatar. A victory that brought joy to the whole kingdom. Pleased with the performance of the Moroccan national team, King Mohammed VI, through an emissary, called the coach of the Atlas Lions on the phone to congratulate him. "Hello? Yes, I’m fine and you your Majesty?" responded the former Paris SG striker. In a stadium in turmoil after the victory of the Moroccan team, Vahid Halilhodzic had to ask the supporters to be less noisy to continue the conversation.
"Thank you very much! Qualification and victory for you and your people. I hope you are happy. But... OK, it’s for you and for my president (of the Moroccan Football Federation, ed.), for the players and for everyone. We are all happy. Thank you very much your Majesty," added the Franco-Bosnian coach. Subsequently, the sovereign also exchanged with the captain of the national team, Romain Saïss. "Your Majesty, how are you? I’m fine and you. We are very proud to represent this country. It’s a pride, thank you for everything you do for us. Inshallah we will do something beautiful at the World Cup and show a beautiful image of Morocco to the whole world. Thank you very much your Majesty," confided the defensive midfielder of Wolverhampton.
A promise that means that the Atlas Lions will do better than in Russia, where Morocco was eliminated in the first round.
