Morocco Joins US-Led ’Sea Breeze’ Naval Exercises in Black Sea for First Time

Following an invitation from the United States, the Royal Moroccan Navy will participate, for the first time ever, in Sea Breeze, one of the largest maritime military exercises. This military exercise will take place from June 28 to July 10 in the Black Sea.
A first. The Royal Navy will participate in the Sea Breeze military exercise, organized jointly each year by the United States and Ukraine, with the participation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the U.S. military said on its Twitter account. Particularity of the 2021 edition? The world’s strongest navies, including those of the United States, the United Kingdom, NATO, Israel, Japan, Brazil and France, will all participate in this military exercise, the objective of which is to strengthen maritime security in the area surrounding the Black Sea.

In total, 5,000 military personnel from 32 different countries will participate in the 21st edition of "Sea Breeze" which will take place from June 28 to July 10. 40 aircraft, 32 ships and 18 special forces teams as well. On the menu, maritime interdiction, air defense, anti-submarine warfare, search and rescue, and special operations behind enemy lines. This will be an opportunity for the [Royal Moroccan Navy] to inspect warships and train in the latest technologies with the strongest navies of friendly countries.
