Morocco Introduces Standardized Pricing for COVID-19 Treatment in Private Clinics

In Morocco, a single pricing will now be practiced for patients with Covid-19 in order to put an end to the exorbitant rates of private clinics. This decision was made following an emergency meeting held at the Ministry of Health.
During this meeting, the representatives of the clinics presented the constraints that could justify the difference between the rates charged by the clinics and the reference pricing recently set by the National Health Insurance Agency (ANAM), particularly with regard to the services related to the management of Covid-19 within the framework of the Mandatory Health Insurance.
It was decided to set up a special pricing for any act related to Covid-19, and this, in all the clinics, confides to Le360 Redouane Semlali, president of the National Association of Private Clinics (ANCP). On Thursday, experts from the Ministry of Health, ANAM and ANCP looked at the preliminary studies to determine the new pricing. This is a "revaluation" of the pricing grid established by ANAM within the framework of the Mandatory Health Insurance (AMO).
