Morocco Launches Oversight Commissions for COVID-19 Care in Private Clinics

The Ministry of Health has announced the establishment of a central commission and regional commissions within the health centers to verify the care of Covid-19 patients in private clinics.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Health, the central commission is composed of the General Inspectorate of the Ministry, the National Health Insurance Agency (ANAM) and the National Order of Physicians. As for the regional commissions, they are composed of regional inspectors from the supervisory department and representatives of the regional councils of the National Order of Physicians, in coordination with ANAM.
This meeting, chaired by the Minister of Health Khaled Ait Taleb, made it possible to emphasize the legal and contractual framework in force (law 65-00, national conventions) and the need to produce supporting documents justifying the damage suffered with the competent bodies (inspections of the Ministry of Health, ANAM).
For the minister, it is urgent to apply the protocol and the reference tariffs. According to him, any excess will have to be treated with rigor. Moreover, he promised that solutions to the constraints of private clinics will be sought, particularly with regard to the cost of care for Covid-19 patients.
