Morocco Intensifies Crackdown on Fake Covid-19 Health Documents

The public prosecutor’s office is stepping up the hunt for fake health documents against Covid-19. It has, through a circular, instructed the Attorney Generals and Prosecutors of the King to prosecute any person suspected of being involved in cases of fraud of said documents, which, in doing so, undermines the vaccination and travel prevention actions throughout Morocco.
The Judicial Police have thus been instructed to use all appropriate means to detect fake health documents, to open investigations, without leniency, but in strict compliance with the Law, against the persons suspected of being involved in these cases. Thus, the persons concerned are required to bring to the attention of the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office all the cases of which they are seized, as well as any difficulties they may encounter.
It should be recalled that since the declaration of the state of health emergency, the Moroccan government has deployed significant resources to preserve the health and safety of citizens. Through these actions, it intends to control the epidemic situation, contain the spread of the virus, achieve a successful national Covid-19 vaccination campaign and, finally, reach collective immunity.
