Morocco to Impose Strict Health Protocols for Cafe and Restaurant Reopenings

Cafes and restaurants are preparing to resume their activities after the extension of the state of health emergency. They will certainly be subject to compliance with a more reinforced health and security protocol, in order to ensure the preservation of the health of Moroccans.
More drastic measures will certainly be taken by the government as part of the resumption of activities of cafes and restaurants in the kingdom. Maintaining the safety distance between tables, mandatory wearing of masks by employees and users, and compliance with hygiene measures inside cafes and restaurants. These are among the measures that the government could impose on cafe and restaurant owners. To this will probably be added the systematic sterilization of utensils and the reduction of the reception capacity of the establishments by half. These measures will help prevent any risk of contamination and spread of the virus.
Since the implementation of the state of health emergency measure, cafes and restaurants have recorded a huge loss of income and the situation is becoming more complicated as the measure continues. The closure of cafes, restaurants and others, announced by the Ministry of the Interior in a press release dated March 15, to limit the spread of the coronavirus, has made daily management difficult for cafe and restaurant managers. The latter are placing their hopes in the resumption.
